Humans are multidimensional entities. The Vedic Tradition posits that there are three primary layers to life: the physical, psychological and spiritual. These layers are not separate but inextricably intertwined and they are all different states of consciousness. To gain balance and integration, we should nourish our body, mind and soul, i.e. all three major levels, with healthy food and actions, positive thoughts and emotions.
There are multiple ways in which we can better nourish ourselves. Apart from exercising, meditation or just resting our body and mind, we can become more aware of all the choices we make in our daily lives. By expanding our awareness, we can integrate more and more of what really nourishes us into our daily lives - bodily, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
We increasingly find into our true self, the core of our being, the true reason for our existence. If we follow our heart's calling, we also nourish our soul, which reveals itself again and again through our yearnings, our striving for self-realization and meaningful fulfilment. All we have to do is listen and direct our attention in conscious and mindful awareness.
Humans exist as a complex bunch of conditionings, containing a lot of stress-reaction patterns and also a multitude of beliefs about ourselves, others and the world. One could also call these conditionings the sum of all our cultivated (healthy and unhealthy) habits. When we have the intention to do something about habits, which are not nourishing, it is helpful to know, that it takes at least 21 days to cultivate a particular habit. So when we start to expand our self-awareness and to make different, more helpful and nourishing choices, it is important to keep this in mind. It needs some time to make something new a habit and as long as we are re-framing our stance or actions, older ones, which we wanted to transform, can re-appear time and again. And yet, the stronger the new habit, the weaker older patterns become until they are fully transformed.
De-stress into more lightness of being
A healthy body is closely interlinked with the expansion of one's consciousness.
Ayurveda - a traditional Vedic science - beautifully demonstrates how mindfulness and conscious awareness-focussing in various areas of life can lead to greater balance of body, mind and soul.
Energy work and thus working or “vitalizing/healing, allowing things to happen” on the causal levels has a direct effect - and also makes a positive contribution to conscious and mindful, nourishing life decisions and holistic well-being.
